Lesley Peatfield is a York based photographer, specialising in abstract digital art.

She was awarded the Licentiate (LRPS) level of the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) in 2019.
She was subsequently awarded Associate level membership of the RPS (ARPS) for her experimental Parallel Lives series, in October 2020.

This stunning series, taken with a camera phone, features street scenes, and architecture. The final images, produced with Photosplit for iPhone, show familiar subjects in new and interesting ways.

Also a traditional landscape photographer, Lesley has been honing her skills since 2009, when she discovered an interest in the technical aspects of photography. She most enjoys the process of choosing lenses and exposures to produce beautiful, and interesting pictures from everyday scenes. Her work is popular with collectors and she is always happy to chat about what her recent work is all about.

Lesley has had personal shows in the York area and has exhibited images at Patchings Art Centre, Nottingham, and Reghed Gallery Café on the Lakes, Cumbria. She is excited to announce she will be taking part in an exhibition in the Blossom Street Gallery in York this summer alongside some local renowned artists with a theme of Life Forms in Motion.

Her work is currently on show at the "Inspired by...gallery" at Danby in the North York National Park, and is taking part in the North Yorkshire Open Studios this summer as a guest artist at the Arnup Gallery in Holtby near York. She is also a regular contributor to Pocklington Area Open Studios which is taking place over the first May bank holiday this year (2024).

Artists statement

“I have a passion for photography and spend most of my spare time taking pictures, downloading and working on them, or putting them into cards or frames.

I love making images of landscapes, abstracts, or whatever catches my eye.

I'm following an abstract journey of international camera movement, multiple exposure and some watercolour experimentation. These make my images for the Life Forms in Motion project.

A varied set but with many themes in common."
